[Verse]
I'll tell to you a story of the lads from County Down,
When in the nineteen sixties they won three All-Ireland crowns,
With two more in the nineties and we know there's more to come,
So come all you lads and lassies cheer for Ireland's finest sons.

[Chorus]
So let's sing now, "Come on Down",
Sing it loud and sing it proud,
To the best old team in Ireland,
That's the boys from County Down.

[Verse]
With Joe Lennon, Dan McCartan and Paddy Doherty,
They won three All-Ireland medals in the nineteen sixtiy spree,
Along with Sean O'Neill who came from Newry town,
He's the greatest footballer player now that ever played for Down.

[Chorus]
So let's sing now, "Come on Down!",
Sing it loud and sing it proud,
To the best old team in Ireland,
That's the boys from County Down.

[Verse]
With two more in the nineties with O'Rourke and D.J Kane,
Mickey Linden and McCartan just a few that I will name,
Along with Conor Deegan and lads like Barry Breen,
Ross Carr and with Blaney sure they made the perfect team.

[Chorus]
So let's sing now, "Come on Down!",
Sing it loud and sing it proud,
To the best old team in Ireland,
That's the boys from County Down.

[Verse]
We have reached a new millennium and things are looking good,
We have Clarke and Benny Coulter, McVeigh and Rodgers too,
We must follow in footsteps of our heroes who have been,
We're the greatest Ulster county team that Ireland's ever seen.

[Chorus]
So let's sing now, "Come on Down!",
Sing it loud and sing it proud,
To the best old team in Ireland,
That's the boys from County Down.

[Chorus]
So let's sing now, "Come on Down!",
Sing it loud and sing it proud,
To the best old team in Ireland,
That's the boys from County Down.
