[Verse]
Oh, me name is Sam Maguire, I've come from far and near,
I've travelled through the counties and stayed from year to year,
I've been to Cork and Galway, Donegal and County Down,
But Armagh is the best place I've ever been around.

[Chorus]
So please don't let me go again, I'm longing for to stay,
Get up that road to Croke Park show to run how you can play,
And lift me up in the orange and white when you fulfil my dreams,
My name is Sam, I'm in the hands of the Armagh football team.

[Verse]
Was my first day in the county, Armagh was quite sincere,
You held me high up to the sky for all could see quite clear,
You showed me off from miles around from Cross to Keady Town,
From Silverbridge to Lurgan and down to Portadown.

[Chorus]
So please don't let me go again, I'm longing for to stay,
Get up that road to Croke Park show to run how you can play,
And lift me up in the orange and white when you fulfil my dreams,
My name is Sam, I'm in the hands of the Armagh football team.

[Verse]
So now another year has done, I do not want to go,
With passion lads you know the task so go for two-in-a-row,
McDonnell, Marsden and with Clarke, McConville and McEntee,
Let McGeeney lift me in his arms for all the world to see.

[Chorus]
So please don't let me go again, I'm longing for to stay,
Get up that road to Croke Park show to run how you can play,
And lift me up in the orange and white when you fulfil my dreams,
My name is Sam, I'm in the hands of the Armagh football team.

[Chorus]
So please don't let me go again, I'm longing for to stay,
Get up that road to Croke Park show to run how you can play,
And lift me up in the orange and white when you fulfil my dreams,
My name is Sam, I'm in the hands of the Armagh football team,
My name is Sam, I'm in the hands of the Armagh football team.
