Three Volunteers - The Irish Brigade

[Verse]
Oh, gather round comrades, a sad tale I'll tell,
Of three volunteers who went out one day,
To free dear old Ireland was their only aim,
To rid this proud nation of British domain.

Near Omagh town in the county Tyrone,
With a bomb in their car, our three men did go,
But something went wrong on that fatal day,
For the bomb went off early, our three men lay dead.

[Chorus]
England, cruel England, you're really to blame,
You divide this rich nation, hang your head in shame,
You've stole and you've plundered, you're raped our rich land,
Our three men lie dead and their blood is on your hands.

[Verse]
Two of these men from Dungannon did come,
Paddy Carty, Seán Loughran, two men on the run,
Their love for old Ireland was their only crime,
For the love of old Ireland they proudly did die.

From far off Cork, in the foot of the Bann,
Young Dermot Crowley, he's not yet a man,
The call was so great, though, he went to the North,
He left his loving parents to follow his heart.

Manys a tear was shed that day,
When the news reached Dungannon, Paddy Carty was dead,
For none was more brave, with a heart big and true,
My God, Paddy Carty, will not forget you.

Seán Loughran, gallant Loughran, alas you are gone,
You came home from England, you couldn't watch on,
A man known for laughter, slag and great wit,
For broken hearted memories are what we're left with.

Let's not forget Dermot Crowley from Cork,
At eighteen years old, he came to the North,
Just like his two comrades, it's plain to be seen,
He gave his young life for Provisional Sinn Féin.

[Verse]
England, cruel England, you're really to blame,
You divide this rich nation, hang your head in shame,
You've stole and you've plundered, you've raped our rich land,
For three men lie dead and their blood is on your hands.

[Verse]
A final tribute we'll pay to the three,
Whose young lives they gave, that old Ireland be free,
Oh, Paddy, Seán and Dermot, it's plain to be seen,
You gave up your lives for Provisional Sinn Féin.

[Outro]
Oh, Paddy, Seán and Dermot, it's plain to be seen,
You gave up your lives for Provisional Sinn Féin.
